OurMission
What We're Working Toward
We want a world where no Filipino has to lose their language to time or distance. Where a grandmother and a grandchild can talk in the same words. Where a kid raised abroad can come home to a language, not just stories about one.
That is the whole reason Wika exists.
Why This Matters
Many Philippine languages are slowly fading as fewer young people grow up speaking them. When a language fades, families lose a way to connect, and communities lose a piece of their history.
Wika exists to help keep these languages part of everyday life.
What Drives Us
Language is identity.
Every language carries the humor, warmth, and history of its people.
Joy, not guilt.
People learn best when it is fun, so we made learning fun.
Community first.
The people who speak these languages lead the way.
Built to last.
We are protecting something that has to outlive all of us.
What Success Looks Like
Success is a kid proudly answering their lola in Bisaya. A balikbayan ordering food in Hiligaynon like they never left. A young speaker keeping Asi alive for the next generation.
When that becomes normal again, we will know it worked.
How You Can Help
You can help simply by learning. Every new speaker keeps a language alive. You can also join as a native speaker reviewer or a partner.
