Philippine language app opens to every Android phone, with a Launch Week of double XP and a gift for every learner

MANILA, Philippines, October 21, 2026. Wika PH is now available to everyone on the Google Play Store. Until today, Android learners could only join through a closed beta. From October 21, anyone with an Android phone can download Wika PH, learn a Philippine language in short daily lessons, and practise speaking it with Dialecto, Wika's voice conversation partner.

Wika PH is a language learning app built for Philippine regional languages. It teaches Tagalog, Cebuano, Ilocano, Hiligaynon and Asi through short lessons, quizzes and daily streaks, in a product designed around Filipino culture rather than a generic template.

Why Android matters

Most phones in the Philippines run Android. Wika PH launched on the Apple App Store first, which meant many of the learners it was built for could not use it yet. Opening the Play Store release brings Wika to the phones most Filipino families, students and workers already carry, and to the many Filipinos abroad who use Android.

The Android beta helped shape this release. More than 160 testers joined it on Google Play in September, and their reports fed directly into the fixes and features that ship today.

Launch Week: double XP for everyone

To celebrate, every lesson earns double XP from October 21 to October 28, on Android and iPhone alike. Subscribers on the Student, Pro and Premium plans earn triple XP for the week, on top of the double XP their plan already includes.

A launch gift for every learner

Every Wika PH account, new or existing, receives a launch gift:

  • 1,000 Gold to spend in the Shop

  • 2 Streak Freezes, which protect a streak through a missed day

  • 2 Heart Shields, which cover mistakes before they cost a heart

  • 2 2x XP Boosters

Learners who sign up during Launch Week receive the gift automatically.

Boosters you can see working

This update also changes how boosters work. The 2x XP Booster now lasts for three finished lessons instead of fifteen minutes, so it is never wasted when a learner closes the app, and it never runs down on a lesson that is not finished. It also stacks with a subscription, so subscribers can reach triple XP any week of the year.

Boosters now show while they work: a tag at the top of every lesson tells learners when double or triple XP is on, and how many boosted lessons they have left.

What learners get on Android

  • The full Wika PH course in five Philippine languages

  • Dialecto, voice conversation practice in the language you are learning

  • The Practice hub, with quizzes, a personal Word Library and flashcards saved to your account

  • Ranks, a weekly leaderboard and daily missions

  • One account across Android and iPhone: streaks, progress and subscriptions carry over

Learners so far

Wika PH has welcomed more than 2,700 learners since launch, and they have completed more than 24,000 lessons. In the first three weeks of October alone, learners finished 9,938 lessons. Tagalog remains the most studied language, followed by Cebuano, Ilocano and Hiligaynon.

A word from the team

“We built Wika PH so every Filipino can learn the language of their family, their province, or the place they now call home. Most of them carry an Android phone. Today, Wika is finally in their hands.” said Kien Serapio, Chief Executive Officer of Wika PH.

Availability

Wika PH is free to download on Google Play and the Apple App Store. The free plan includes lessons, practice rounds, missions and monthly Dialecto credits. The Student, Pro and Premium plans add unlimited hearts, double XP and more voice practice; the Student plan is available to learners who verify a school email.
